We are back in the final after nine years!!!
By: Marcos | May 25th, 2008After what seemed like forever, Cruz Azul is finally back in the final of the first division of the Mexican League. Most importantly, today finally marks the end of the nine year wait to return to the big celebration.
Being a celeste has been a cruel, cruel, cruel thing at least in the last 28 years but it is days like this were its hard to believe that we are actually back in the position to win the tournament.
San Luis gave up quite a fight but Cruz Azul showed the colors of what it means to be a big team. Though we did not play to the best of our ability but the tactical ability of Markarian has made this team go farther than most people thought.
AZUL! We are back in the fight!

And on top of that, we’re qualified for the upcoming CONCACAF Champions League (automatically if we win the Clausura).
Sure, it might not be the biggest thing on most maquinista’s minds, but hopefully if they and the New England Revolution both qualify and end up in the same group, I’ll finally be able to see Cruz Azul in person!
